Thank you for your kind birthday felicitations. I spent the day in the Devonshire countryside with only a pack of hounds for company. I am most refreshed and ready to take on filming for the next Harry Potter movie, in which I will take up at least 60 minutes of on-screen time. I hope you can handle it.

Dear Alan,

I'm so VERY tickled that you saw my tribute to you on your birthday, and want you to know that it only took about fifteen minutes for me to pick my jaw up off the floor when I saw that you'd commented on it!

My son, incidentally, is named after Devonshire, in a roundabout sort of way. Those were some very lucky hounds, indeed. Next time you feel like lounging around the countryside to refresh, drop me a line and I'll come keep you company. I can be very entertaining, especially when I've been drinking margaritas.

Knowing that you'll be in the next HP flick for 60 minutes has spurred me to buy my tickets early. Even befor it's reached the camera, as a matter of fact. Thanks for the heads-up. If I don't make it out of the theater after such a succulent Snape overload, I'm sure you'll hear about it on the local news channel.

Come visit me in the hospital, won't you? ;-)
